TDK-EPC, a group company of TDK Corporation, is presenting a new sample kit with SAW filters for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems. The components are designed for center frequencies of between 315 and 2450 MHz. The sample kit contains filters with broadband and narrowband characteristics. The broadband types have a useful bandwidth from 0.6 to 97 MHz, and the narrowband types from 0.1 to 0.6 MHz.  more

TDK-EPC, a group company of TDK Corporation, presents a new sample kit with EPCOS SMD CU varistors. The electrical parameters of these CTVS (ceramic transient voltage suppression) components correspond to the leaded disk varistors of the proven EPCOS series SIOV-S05 in case size 3225 and SIOV-S07 in case size 4032. The varistors contained in the sample kit cover a voltage range from 16 to 385 V DC and are designed for surge currents of between 100 and 1200 A and a standard pulse of 8/20 µs.  more

TDK-EPC, a group company of TDK Corporation, presents its extended range of EPCOS PQ ferrite cores. With the newly added core sizes PQ40/40 and PQ50/50 the full range of PQ cores is now covered between the sizes PQ16/11.6 and PQ50/50. The PQ cores have been developed in particular for transformers in switch-mode power supplies.  more

EPCOS has extended its product range by four current sense transformers: the new series was developed on the basis of an EE12.6 ferrite core and is suitable for measuring alternating currents of up to 40 A. It complements the portfolio of transformers with E4.2 and EE5 ferrite cores.  more

EPCOS is extending its comprehensive range of EMC filters for frequency converters: new sine-wave filters reduce the proportion of high clock frequencies at the output of converters. This allows the interference-free operation of variable speed drives with long motor cables.  more

EPCOS has developed a series of MKT film capacitors distinguished by their great ruggedness and very low capacitance drift. Even after a 1000-hour test at 85 °C, 85 percent relative air humidity and 240 V AC, their maximum capacitance change is less than 10 percent.  more

EPCOS is now offering automotive electronics developers a sample kit with transponder coils. The types with dimensions of 7.8 x 2.7 x 2.7 mm³ and 11.4 x 3.5 x 3.5 mm³ are designed for polarization in the x-y coordinates. A type with dimensions of 7.7 x 7.7 x 2.65 mm³ is contained for polarization in the z coordinate.  more

The new SAW resonators from EPCOS feature greatly reduced tolerance around the center frequency. Compared to predecessor types, it was narrowed down by 50 percent and is now only ±25 kHz at 433.92 MHz.  more

EPCOS has extended its range of film capacitors for AC applications with the portfolio of its Chinese joint venture EPCOS Feida. These products are used primarily as motor start or motor run capacitors, particularly in the single-phase asynchronous motors of household appliances, air-conditioning systems, compressors, pumps, and other drives.  more

EPCOS is driving the miniaturization of filters for connectivity applications forwards with its 2-in-1 filter for GPS and Bluetooth. The component has dimensions of only 2.0 x 1.6 mm² and has outstanding filter properties. EPCOS has now extended its series of ASB1200 gel-protected barometric pressure sensors to include new types that feature calibrated analog interfaces. And at only 4 x 4 x 2.5 mm³ they are the world’s smallest sensors of their kind. The heart of the new ASB1200V1 and ASB1200VR sensors is a piezoresistive sensor chip, which is mounted in hybrid technology together with the ASIC. EPCOS has developed a new series of PTC thermistors in the EIA 0603 case size specifically for LED driver circuits. Compared to conventional PTC limit temperature sensors they offer two decisive benefits: their rated resistance has a narrow tolerance of ±15 percent and their R/T characteristic is more exactly specified.  more
