Citing a long-standing and successful business relationship that includes close collaboration on technology, French power generation and rail transport group Alstom has honored EPCOS as one of its preferred suppliers. Alstom is a key player in the construction of power plants and a leading provider of rail transport systems, including France's high-speed train TGV. Railcars from Alstom are deployed in intercity and local rail networks around the globe. EPCOS supplies Alstom primarily with power capacitors and screw-on aluminum electrolytic capacitors for use in rail systems.

A global presence – 24 production and development sites close to the customer worldwide – was a crucial factor in helping EPCOS win this award from Alstom. EPCOS manufactures a very large number of products for rail systems in countries where rail transport is expanding on a huge scale such as in China and India.
