SAW components: Flat IF filters for DVB-T

EPCOS has developed a new SAW IF filter with the designation X7259Z for digital terrestrial TV systems. Its center frequency is 36.17 MHz. The bandwidth can be switched between 7 MHz and 8 MHz using a separate pin. The SMT component is housed in a DCC14C package with a footprint of 3.9 x 11.7 mm.

With a low insertion height of just 1.1 mm the filter is designed for use not only in miniaturized OFDM (orthogonal frequency-division multi-plexing) tuners for terrestrial PC TV cards for notebooks, but also in USB tuner sticks and mobile TV applications in PDAs and other portable devices. EPCOS also offers further SAW filter solutions for set-top boxes and TV tuners in DIP18D packages such as the X7053L or in SIP5K packages such as the X6751M.
