EPCOS has rounded off its range of thyristor modules for dynamic PFC with the new TSM-LC10 for PFC applications in the low reactive power range. This electronically controlled and self-monitoring power switch (ordering code B44066T0010E402) is designed for capacitive loads up to 10 kvar in 380 and 400 V power systems. Like all thyristor modules of the TSM series, the new TSM-LC10 also features extremely short switching times of about
5 ms, microprocessor-controlled matching to PFC capacitor branches with or without detuned harmonic filters. It also operates completely silently. The module is supplied in ready-to-connect form and requires no maintenance. An LED display shows the status of its voltage and switching behavior, which is continuously monitored.
With the TSM-LC10, EPCOS now offers thyristor modules from 10 to 200 kvar as well as all key components for dynamic power factor correction such as five series of PFC power capacitors (PhaseCap®, PhaseCap HD, WindCap®, PhiCap, MKV capacitors) and the BR6000T power factor controller.
