Information regarding Substances of Very High Concern according to REACH Art. 33

The candidate list according to article 59 (1, 10) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) was published October 28th, 2008 on the website of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Determining whether any of its products contain more than 0.1 percent by weight of the candidate substances is an ongoing process. For this purpose the company is in close contact with its suppliers.

In the process it has been found that Bis (2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP) CAS 117-81-7 is contained in certain classes of aluminum electrolytic capacitors with PVC sleeves and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) CAS 84-74-2 in certain classes of film capacitors (see product list below).

EPCOS must also continue to use humidity indicator cards containing CoCl2 in the packaging of some of its products.

EPCOS is taking every effort to replace these substances as quickly as possible.
