For the first time, Panasonic Malaysia has picked EPCOS as the winner of its »Strategic Business Partner Award«. The honor comes in recognition of our performance on product quality, service, logistics, and compliance with the EU's RoHS Directive, which requires the use of substances that are hazardous to the environment to be minimized in electronic equipment.

The award was presented by Panasonic Air-Conditioning, one of the world's largest producers of air-conditioning systems for use in buildings. The company manufactures more than 7 million such units a year and operates plants in China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and the Philippines. Panasonic's Malaysian facility was opened in 1972 and today employs about 1200 people.

EPCOS supplies film capacitors to be fitted in Panasonic's air-conditioning systems. The capacitors are made at our plant in Nashik, India.
